The term "peace on earth" or "world peace" has been used so much that it has become a cliché. No matter what empires survive or fall there seems to always be a need for more tolerance and acceptance of our differences. Now is no different. This figure takes it's inspiration from Michelangelo's "Creation" from the ceiling of the Vatican's Sistine Chapel depicting the bringing to life of mankind by God. Gaylord uses this image to indicate a reaching out of God to mankind and mankind to mankind across an earthly globe that more than ever needs compassion, tolerance and understanding.
