Michael Flohr's work is a visual adventure. Flohr is a young San Diego artist whose modern impressionistic paintings of bar scenes, café scenes and busy city streetscapes offer a colorful social commentary on our times. Influenced by the impressionistic masters, Flohr's broad, square brushstrokes create an almost mosaic effect, obscuring the figures in his paintings, leaving a simple illusion of each depicted scene. Flohr comments "Observation is everything for me. Whether it is seen, heard or read, it is all connected to that which can be processed into a visual." Flohr began his career by studying at the Academy of Art College in San Francisco.
