"The seed for this painting was planted during a conversation with one of my
collectors. We were discussing my paintings that portray interpretations of song
lyrics or titles such as "She's Got the Jack" and "Hello Dad, Hello Mom". My
collector and his wife are purveyors of high fashion, so I started to think of song
lyrics with a fashion angle. Not surprisingly, I once again landed on a Mötley Crüe
song titled, "Hell on High Heels". From there, my imagination took over and the
rest of the pieces started to fall into place." Stick
A quick search for spiked heels landed on these epic Balenciaga pumps that were
dripping in rock ‘n' roll. They fit the narrative perfectly, having equal elements of
high fashion and gritty rock ‘n' roll. True caviar on a paper plate vibe.
The tattoos are where Mötley is reflected. True Crüe fans will recognize one of
the tattoos as a rendition of the flash on the "New Tattoo" album from which the
song originates. The other tattoo is a nod to Nikki Sixx's affliction for knives, which
he coincidentally often keeps tucked into his boot while on stage.
